@runnerty/executor-decompress through 3.1.1 OS Command Injection via Archive File Name
CVE-2026-110641 · published 2026-10-14
Summary
@runnerty/executor-decompress through 3.1.1 contains an OS command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute commands by supplying crafted archive file names to compress_file. Attackers who can name a file dropped into a watched directory can inject $() substitutions or unquoted shell metacharacters into shelljs exec() calls, running commands with Runnerty process privileges.
Evidence
The exploit was run against the published artifact from the registry, not the repository. It created a marker file; a benign input through the same sink in the same session did not.
Remediation
No fixed release was published at disclosure. Don't pass untrusted file names or strings to the affected functions, or apply the patch from the fix pull request.
